Many Shasta Mill pulp and paper hourly and salaried employees put in several years of service at the Anderson mill. Once some of these employees had tenured in 25 or more years, so it became a cause for celebration to honor this important milestone or achievement in one's service to the mill operation.

Usually a nice local restaurant in town was selected for the evening. A group size room at this selected restaurant was then reserved for the celebration. The Shasta Mill personnel HR department would then send out R.S.V.P.s to those employees to be honored along with invitations for their spouses or companions to attend the service award dinner. A good time was usually had by those attending these special functions.
